Description :
Between biography and poetry, a subtle space appears where the creative world of Irakli Nadaraia unfolds through .

Type: Newspaper Article
He is like a poem in the sunlight—one that may be simple or difficult to read. It depends entirely on the reader. Behind the young man’s appearance lies the warmth of his soul, reflected in his green eyes. He is filled with love for people. His poetry evenings are always unexpected, filled with moments that cannot be predicted. This evening at the “Old House” theatre continues the same quiet unpredictability that defines his poetry nights. Outside, a strong wind blows.
Journalists, having completed their interviews, begin to leave. Yet the audience remains. Irakli stands on the stage, holding a red cactus flower. He walks slowly among seven samovars. He has a particular fondness for trains, tea, and samovars.
“I invite a word into the samovar. And that word lives in the samovar. And then I drink tea,” he says.
The evening comes to an end, but no one rushes to leave. The audience stays seated. Irakli Nadaraia joins them. Together, they look at the empty stage and listen—to silence.
The author reflects on Irakli’s life—his family, his brother, the artist Raul, his grandmother, and his friends. She writes about how the poet perceives those close to him, how he feels deeply and supports them. The article also mentions his “second mother,” the actress Sophie Conti, recalling their meetings in Italy and his literary evenings abroad.
Irakli Nadaraia speaks four languages, yet writes exclusively in Georgian. His poetic imagery resonates far beyond his homeland. His work has been discussed in Spain, Greece, Brazil, Ireland, Belgium, Egypt, Cuba, and the United States. The American actress Whoopi Goldberg once said:
,, I was asked in Washington: where are the fairies and wizards, and where can we find modern magical poetry? Now I can answer—look at the poetry of Irakli Nadaraia.”
And the Italian actress Sophia Loren remarked:
,, He is like a beautiful child who comes to you—and stays with you forever.”
And within that image, something remains unspoken — something that continues beyond words.
