Beauty is not always visible at first glance — sometimes it appears only through reflection.

The article presents a biographical and artistic overview of the poet Irakli Nadaraia, including an interview and reflections on his creative work and public perception.

This interview was originally published in Georgian Elite Magazine in May 2011 and is preserved in the digital archive of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia. It represents one of the documented literary interviews featuring Georgian poet and composer Irakli Nadaraia, focusing on his creative philosophy, poetry, and musical composition.

Interview Overview

An unusual way of reciting poetry, a magical world, and a reverent approach to the word — this is how the creative universe of Georgian poet and composer Irakli Nadaraia is described. Listening to his poetry and music opens a space where language, emotion, and musical structure begin to exist in quiet harmony.

His musical works extend the same inner structure that lives within his poetry, where language and sound seem to emerge from the same source. In the summer of 2010, he composed a piano concerto, expanding his artistic expression into classical instrumental form.

Interview with Irakli Nadaraia

“I have been writing poetry since early childhood. When I read my early poems, I see and feel that what was expressed in them has come true in life — on an emotional and energetic level.

These poems are like magical prayers, carrying a hidden secret within them. I often read my poems alone, in silence. Then the words begin to take effect — I start to see faces, fragments of existence.

For me, poetry is a choice and a way of life. Poetry cannot exist without a poet. A poet can bring beauty into the world through a kind of magic mirror — and the world becomes more beautiful. That is the power of art.

There are no ready-made rules or standards here — only the feeling within a person, within their soul.”

Literary Interpretation

Literary critics describe the poetry of Irakli Nadaraia as finely structured verbal compositions — often compared to “jewels made of words,” where form, emotion, and harmony are deeply interconnected.

His works combine poetic imagery with musical sensitivity, creating a distinctive artistic style that blends literature and sound.

And somewhere within that reflection, something continues to unfold — something that cannot be fully explained, only felt.
